Russian missiles hit the city of Ternopil in western Ukraine while the final of the Eurovision Song Contest was taking place in Liverpool on Saturday night. This is where the electropop duo TVORCHI comes from, which this year represented Ukraine in the competition.

On Saturday late in the evening, Russian forces launched an air attack on Ternopil. Explosions were heard in the city. One of the buildings in the city’s industrial zone caught fire, local authorities said.

As reported on the Suspilne portal, the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Trush, as a result of the attack, an uninhabited building in the industrial zone burst into flames. Trusz urged residents to stay in their shelters and refrain from posting any photos or videos.

Later, the recording of the incident was published by the State Service Ukraine for Emergency Situations.

Also on Saturday, according to local authorities, the Russian army shelled four villages in the Sumy region with mortars.

The duo TVORCHI comes from Tarnopol, which this year represented Ukraine at the Song Contest Eurovision.
