At least 19 people were injured as a result of Monday's attack by Russian forces on Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine. Local authorities reported that, according to preliminary findings, the area in the city center was fired upon by the S-400 missile system.
The authorities of Kharkiv reported an explosion in the city after 8.30 Ukrainian time (7.30 in Poland). Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on Telegram that shells fell in the center of Kharkov. “Outbuildings and cars were burning,” wrote Terehow.

The number of injured people was increasing. First, local authorities reported 10 injured people, later – 15. After 9 a.m., Terekhov reported that 19 people were injured. He also informed that, according to preliminary findings, the Kiev region was fired upon by the S-400 missile system.
Kharkiv Oblast bordering with Russia has been systematically shelled by Russian forces since Moscow launched its armed invasion Ukraine in February 2022.
