Ukrainian forces are trying to regain control of Severdoniecek in the Luhansk region. Fights are underway, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. “The Ukrainian troops defending the city managed to regroup and build a defense line,” reports Mayor Oleksandr Striuk.
“The occupiers are trying to stop the defenders and defenders of Ukraine by disrupting the logistic security system in the Donetsk direction,” the headquarters said in a statement. In turn, the mayor of Siewierdoniecka, Oleksandr Striuk, informed that “Ukrainian troops defending the city managed to regroup and build a defense line”.
The mayor, quoted by the Ukrainska Pravda website, explained that “there are ongoing street fights accompanied by continuous artillery fire.” He also informed that almost 13,000 people remained in the city at the beginning of the assault. “Due to the fact that continuous street fighting lasts for the third day, this population remained there,” he said. He added that “the Russians forcibly deported a small part of the population to the occupied areas”.
Air and missile attacks
Russian forces carried out four attacks from Tochka-U missile systems in the vicinity of the cities of Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Konstantinovka (Donetsk Oblast) and Lisichansk (Luhansk Oblast). There were also air and missile attacks on Slavyansk and Soledar in the Donetsk region.
In the Severodonetsk direction, Russian troops fired gun artillery and rocket launchers around the cities of Severodonetsk, Lisiczańsk and Toszkiwka in the Luhansk Oblast.
According to the staff, Ukrainian defenders are inflicting losses on Russian forces in all directions where combat operations are taking place.
In the Bakhmuck direction, the Russian troops attacked, inter alia, in the vicinity of Toreck and Wrubiwka. In the vicinity of Donetsk, Russian forces shelled several towns, including Krasnohorivka, Marjinka and the village of Wesełe. A rocket and air attack was carried out on the village of Kurachowe.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops are trying to hold their positions and are constantly attacking the positions of Ukrainian forces.
