To sum up the past six months, the general staff of Ukraine emphasized that for the first time in 11 years of the conflict with Russia, combat activities were transferred to its own territory. “Our troops still control hundreds of square kilometers of buffer zone in the Russian Federation,” it was informed.

The announcement explained that the purpose of Kurska's offensive was to prevent the new assault of the Russians in the Sumski and Kharkovas. The expectations that this will happen were completed – declared. “The operation forced Russian occupiers to transfer significant resources to the Kursk region, which weakened their positions on other fronts,” we read.

The army of Ukraine stated that Russia was “forced to ask North Korea for help”, which sent 12,000 soldiers to Kurski.

“The total losses of the North Korea contingent amounted to about 4,000 people. One of the three fictitious North Korean brigades was actually destroyed, and two lost their combat capacity. As a result of the North Korean unit, they were withdrawn from the front line” – noted.

“Within six months of active warfare in the Kurska region, total Russian losses amounted to about 39,900 people, of which about 16 100 soldiers were killed” – wrote the general staff. 909 Russians were taken prisoner – he clarified.

“Kursk's offensive remains an example of sudden asymmetrical and successful actions of the Ukrainian armed forces, allowing to inflict significant losses to the opponent and take the initiative on the battlefield,” said Ukrainian military.
