Earlier on Thursday, Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malar announced that very heavy fighting was taking place in Bakhmut, but despite the involvement of “the most professional forces”, including air assault troops, special forces and mercenaries of the Wagner Group, the enemy failed to achieve its goal – to fully capture cities.

“The enemy has concentrated his main efforts there, and we too must exert ourselves to defend these positions,” Malar said.

Russian forces are trying to take over Bakhmut from August 2022. The heaviest and bloodiest fighting in the war is currently taking place there Russia with Ukraine.
