Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukrainian military search teams have found the bodies of almost 500 wanted soldiers who died during the fighting, said Volodymyr Lamzin, representative of the general staff of the Ukrainian army. About 7,000 military personnel are considered missing. The authorities in Kiev estimate that more than half of them are probably alive and in Russian captivity.
“By April 20, almost half a thousand bodies of our fallen defenders were found by Ukrainian military search teams,” said Volodymyr Lamzin, quoted by Ukrinform. He added that more than 500 bodies of enemy soldiers were also found.
Search teams have already explored about 600 locations. These teams operate in places where representatives of the Office of the Plenipotentiary for Missing Persons cannot reach.
They are still searching for thousands of missing people
