In southern Ukraine, the Russian occupation authorities are preparing plans to evacuate local collaborators in the event of a Ukrainian counter-offensive, the Ukrainian government website of the Center for National Opposition reported. The inhabitants of Wasylówka in the Zaporizhzhia region, who cooperated with the Russians, would flee to the Crimea two hours before the retreat of the Russian troops, it was pointed out.

The local occupational administration took such action because it had to meet the expectations of the collaborators and their families. The mood in this environment, which is afraid of the Ukrainian offensive, is panicky, wrote the website created by the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, on March 9, the Center informed that similar projects are also being undertaken in the occupied area Russia Crimea. In some places on this peninsula, such as in Krasnoperekopsk, the local Moscow authorities had already approved the evacuation plans.

The Zaporozhye region, including Vasilivka, has been perceived by some analysts since the end of last year as a possible location for a Ukrainian counteroffensive. This view was presented in December last year by Colonel Roman Svitan, who argued that the main military objective of Kiev in the coming months would be an attack from the Zaporozhye direction towards Melitopol and the coast of the Sea of Azov, which would make it possible to close the Russian troops in a pocket in the eastern part of the Kherson region, on the left bank of the Dnieper.
