> At least five people were killed in shelling of the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region in southeastern Ukraine, the head of the regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin, said.
> Ukrainian air defenses shot down 24 Shahed drones used by Russian forces to attack Ukraine last night; another 25 drones lost communication and crashed, the Air Force said.
> The independent Russian website Mediazona and the BBC's Russian editorial office reported that, as part of a journalistic investigation, they had identified nearly 66,500 Russian soldiers who died in Ukraine since the outbreak of a full-scale war in the country from February 24, 2022 to August 30, 2024.
> The incursion of Ukrainian troops into the Kursk region in Russia is in line with international law and Ukraine's right to self-defense, said the Secretary General NATO Jens Stoltenberg newspaper “Welt am Sonntag”. This is his first statement on this military operation.
