On the night of Monday to Tuesday, Russia attacked Ukraine with Shahed attack drones and guided aerial bombs. We destroyed 13 targets, the Ukrainian Air Force Command said.
The attack with the Shaheds was carried out from the north and south-east. The occupier’s Su-35 fighters took off from the airport in Morozovsk in the Rostov region and with the help of two guided guided bombs attacked the Kherson area.
The forces and air defense destroyed 13 targets: 12 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones and one “Granat-4” reconnaissance UAV, the air force command said.
There is no information about the effects of the bomb attack on the Kherson area.
Regular deliveries of Iranian drones
On Sunday, the British Ministry of Defense informed in an intelligence update that from the beginning of March 2023 Russia most likely deployed at least 71 Iranian Shahed drones in Ukraine. As noted, these attacks occurred after an approximately two-week break in the use of these Iranian-made ammunition.
“Russia has probably started to receive regular shipments of a small number of Shahed drones,” it said.
British intelligence estimates that the drones are sent from two regions – Krasnodar Krai and Bryansk Oblast of Russia. “This allows Russia to gain flexibility in accessing targets across a large territory of Ukraine and reduces the time to reach targets in the north of the country. It is also probably a further attempt to disperse Ukrainian air defense,” it said.
