The regrouping of Russian troops in Zaporizhia is underway. After their end, military operations may intensify, the head of the Zaporizhia oblast authorities, Oleksandr Staruch, informed on Thursday.
– No time to relax. The enemies are now rotating, having received around 80 old tanks in the last month. Nobody knows yet where they will be used. After the regrouping (of the Russians), hostilities may intensify, warned the head of the Zaporizhia region authorities.
The official said that the Zaporizhia oblast is still strengthening its defenses, which may reduce the chances of Russian troops for a successful offensive.
– While visits to Zaporizhia by President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered to strengthen the defensive positions. We have already done a lot. Whole Ukraine will send additional equipment and wood to further strengthen the lines of defense. Enterprises in Zaporizhia produce metal fortifications. Better to rely on solid defense, even in offensive means – said the Old Man.
– The Ukrainian authorities continue to operate in the temporarily occupied territories. Zaporizhia oblast will remain part of Ukraine, and illegal attempts by the occupiers to separate it from our country will not be recognized by international partners or the local population, he assured.
The Ukrinform agency recalled that currently about 80 percent of the territory of Zaporizhia oblast is under the control of Russian troops.
