South Korea's intelligence service has confirmed that Ukraine has captured two North Korean soldiers in Russia's Kursk region. “We will continue to share information related to North Korean prisoners in close cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence authorities,” the NIS said, adding that the wounded soldiers were not in critical condition.

The Yonhap agency, citing the SBU, reported that one of the prisoners claimed during interrogation that he thought he was going for training, not to war against Ukraine. The man allegedly had a Russian military identification card issued in the name of another person registered in Russia. Those captured are people born in 2005 and 1999 who have been in military service since 2021 and 2016, respectively.
