In the night rocket attack on Lviv, among others, a block of flats was shelled, which partially collapsed. A rescue operation is underway, rescuers are trying to reach the injured. At least four people died and over 30 were injured. “There will definitely be a response to the enemy’s actions. A strong one,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social media.

On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, an air alert was announced in Ukraine. The head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Maksym Kozicki, announced that a Russian rocket had hit a block of flats in Lviv. He had previously reported on a missile attack on a critical infrastructure facility in the city.

“The operational staff and rescue services are working on the spot, because it is possible that there are still people under the rubble. The situation is extremely difficult,” said the mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, about the attack.

He also reported that 60 apartments and 50 cars were damaged as a result of the night shelling of the city.

Information about the victims of the Russian attack was provided by Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. “As a result of the Russian rocket fire, an apartment block is damaged. The second and third floors in two staircases were destroyed. After the rocket shelling in Lviv (…) at 7.00 (6.00 in Poland) four people were killed, nine were injured Employees of the State Service for Emergency Situations saved seven people, 64 were evacuated,” Klymenko wrote on Telegram. After 7:20 a.m., the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the number of wounded was 32.

He added that there are still people under the rubble of the building, who are being reached by emergency services.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the attack on Lviv on social media. “The effects of the night attack by Russian terrorists. Unfortunately, they are injured and killed. Condolences to loved ones! There will definitely be a response to the enemy’s actions. Strong,” he wrote.
