Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed General Yuri Sodol from his post as head of the Joint Armed Forces on Monday. Earlier, one of the high-ranking officers accused the general of causing the unjustified loss of “dozens of cities and thousands of soldiers.”

“I have decided to replace Lieutenant General Yuri Sodol as commander of the Combined Armed Forces of Ukraine with Brigadier General Andriy Hnatov,” Zelensky said on Monday, without explaining the reasons for his decision.

“He killed more Ukrainian soldiers than any Russian general.”

“I wrote a letter to the DBR calling for an investigation into the case of a military general who, in my opinion, killed more Ukrainian soldiers than any Russian general. I don't care if they open an investigation against me or put me in prison,” he explained.

“However, I do care that the heads of battalions and brigades are being tried for losing an observation point, and at the same time the general who led to the loss of districts, dozens of cities and thousands of soldiers is not being tried,” he added.
