In its latest analysis, the Institute for War Studies (ISW) describes individual reports by Russian so-called military bloggers. The research shows that those who wrote about the lower activity of Ukrainians in Kursk Oblast may not be right. One of them indicates that Russians have problems with command and control and they are far away from stabilizing the situation in the region.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian formations were to start new attacks in the western part of Kursk region near the towns of Slobodka-Ivanovka, Tetkino, Gordeevka, Uspenka and Viktorovka. “Russian sources claimed that the Ukrainians occupied Slobodka-Ivanovka, Uspenivka and Viktorovka,” we read.
Ukraine's attack on Kursk region. The military does not stop
Russian bloggers also point to Snagost and Kremjanoje. Ukrainians are said to have attacked in this area north and south of Koronevo, trying to bypass the town. These reports seem to be confirmed by geolocation data.
Progress of the Ukrainian army also recorded north and east of Semenovka. Ukrainian vehicles were also recorded in the northern part of Giri (east of Sudzha), but it is not clear whether the Ukrainians are holding their positions there. If so, it is possible that they entered the settlement from the west, because – as analyzed by ISW – the Ministry of Defense Russia stated that its forces repelled an attack near the village of Borki.
The analysis shows that Ukrainians were also active in Darino, as well as in the border areas of Sumy and Belgorod regions. ISW also writes about “exceptionally sincere assessments of local authorities regarding the situation in the region”. According to the report of the acting governor of Kursk Oblast, the Ukrainians were to occupy 28 parts in the Kursk region.
Ukraine's attack on Russia. Local authorities “exceptionally” honest
In turn, the governor of the Belgorod region expressed “concern” about the activity of Ukrainian troops on the border with his region. From the Institute's observations, it can be concluded that the forces Ukraine managed to enter up to 40 settlements.
On Monday, Ukrainian army chief Oleksandr Syrsky announced that Ukrainians in Kursk region control about 1000 square kilometers of land.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the activity of Ukrainian forces on Tuesday morning. The ministry said that drones the enemy attacked at night in the following areas: Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh. Fourteen drones were destroyed. The statement did not say how many aircraft were involved in the raid.
