Last week Vladimir Putin visited Chechnya. During his visit Ramzan Kadyrov declared that he had sent over 40 thousand soldiers to the Ukrainian front, of which 19 thousand were to be volunteers. At the same time, he assured that he had powerful reserves, ready to respond to the call of the Russian leader. However, as reported by “New Europe”, the Chechen leader departed from the truth.
Right after Putin left Kadyrov allegedly summoned the heads of the district internal affairs departments and ordered them to sign contracts with volunteers. According to “Novaya Gazeta”, this is a sign that the ranks of the Chechen reserve are not that large, and Razman lied to Putin in order to avoid mass conscription in Chechnya.
Ukraine's attack on Kursk region. Chechen soldiers “like children”
It turns out that Ramzan's lie has deeper roots. “The fate of the Chechen Akhmat regiment, which withdrew from its fortified positions without a fight and lost at least ten prisoners in the process, has become a symbol of the alarming incompetence of the Russian army in the first days of the Armed Services offensive. Ukrainy in the Kursk region” – writes “Nova Gazeta”.
According to the newspaper, the Akhmat-Chechnya regiment sent to Kursk is a unit created for PR purposes, inexperienced and unprepared soldiers until August 6 (beginning of the Ukrainian offensive in Kursk region – ed.) They did not observe even minimal discipline.
“Most of them behaved like children.who got out of the control of strict parents, freely realizing their forbidden desires suppressed by the strict Chechen order,” we read.
Kadyrov's lie. Volunteers counted “not by heads, but by contracts”
Moreover, according to Novaya Gazeta, the data that Kadyrov gave to Putin was embellished.
“Volunteers sent to the war in Chechnya are counted not by heads, but by contracts. The point is that volunteers who go to the front through the “Russian University of Special Forces” sign a short-term contract for four months. And then they renegotiate it again. When they sign a new contract, along with their salary (until recently 300,000 rubles per month — about 12,500 zlotys) they receive a lump sum payment of the same amount,” it was reported.
Thanks to this, one volunteer who had gone to war with Chechnya several times, is listed in the papers as several volunteers.
All of this adds up to a “grim military outlook.” The more time that passes since Aug. 6, the less optimistic the military forecasts are, the newspaper said.what methods will the Russian army have to use to eliminate the enemy and how much cannon fodder will it need to do so.”
