As a result of the attack by Ukrainian forces on a military warehouse in the Tver region, the Russian army lost two to three months of ammunition, Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian Defense Forces Intelligence Center, assessed, as quoted by public broadcaster ERR. On the night from Friday to Saturday, Ukrainians attacked the Tver region again. The target was a military base.
Ammunition depot in the city of Toropets in the Tver region was attacked by Ukrainian drones on Wednesday. The Russians stored Grad, S-300 and S-400 missiles, as well as Iskander ballistic missiles, at the site. Guided bombs were also stored there.
Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian Defence Forces Intelligence Centre, said that according to his data, the Russian army has lost at least 750,000 rounds of ammunition, weighing 30,000 tons. On average, Kiviselg said, the Russians use 10,000 rounds a week. “That's two or three months' worth of ammunition,” he estimated, as quoted by public broadcaster ERR. He added that the results of Wednesday's attack would be visible on the front in the coming weeks.
According to the Ukrainian military portal Defense Express, Ukrainian forces may have used a Palianitsa missile drone to attack an ammunition depot in the Tver region, as one of the recordings that appeared on social media showed the sound of a rocket engine. The city of Toropets is located far from the border with Ukraine by almost half a thousand kilometers.
Kiviselg recalled that the Tver region is located near the border with EstoniaHe noted that a large amount of ammunition, which was not yet stored at the base, was delivered by the Russian military by rail shortly before the attack.
On the night of Friday to Saturday, Ukrainian drones once again attacked the Tver region. The target was an ammunition depot at a training ground near the village of Oktyabrsky. The town of Toropets is located nearby. Russian Telegram channels reported that the drones attacked a missile arsenal. The Moscow Defense Ministry did not confirm this information.
