Michał Kołodziejczak, the leader of AgroUnia, speaking in “Tak jest” on TVN24 about the situation related to the influx of grain from Ukraine, argued that “the only good solution would be to introduce a duty”. – PiS acts as a classic arsonist. First they set fire to it, now they pretend to extinguish it and solve the problem, he added. – Today, we have arranged, first of all, that we have political agreements at the level of the governments of Warsaw and Kiev, and we are also waiting for the European Commission to join these solutions, so that no grain, no grain, goes beyond this transit – said the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Krzysztof Ciecior.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Robert Telus, announced that “transports of grain from Ukraine passing through Poland will be escorted and monitored by the SENT system.

Kołodziejczak: PiS acts as a classic arsonist

This decision was commented on in the program “Tak jest” on TVN24 by the leader of AgroUnion Michał Kołodziejczak and Krzysztof Ciecióra, deputy minister of agriculture.

PIS acts as a classic incendiary. First, they set fire to it, now they pretend to put it out and solve the problem, Kołodziejczak said. In his opinion, this solution “is only halfway.”

– Ports (there are – ed.) not developed. We can export about half a million tons of cereals per month. If these cereals are transit cereals, what about ours? Today we have a surplus of four million tons, he explained.

– Half an hour ago I finished a meeting with Polish companies that bought Polish corn during the harvest, today they have a huge problem, this corn cannot be sold. They paid the normal price. The corn that arrived in Poland brought the price down very sharply. Today, they pay PLN 300 for each ton, they cannot pay farmers, this chain is completely broken and there is a problem here and this problem will not be solved by anyone – he added.

– Today we have actually made a good solution, but for Ukrainian oligarchs who have invested a lot in food production in Ukraine. And today we allow them to occupy our markets in Western Europe, continued the leader of AgroUnion.

According to Kołodziejczak, “a good solution would only be to introduce tariffs.” – This would equalize the price throughout the European Union. Today, those who bought grain from us from Germanfrom France, from Spain they say: “ok, we will buy from Ukraine what will come to us in transit”.

The deputy minister of agriculture indicates the “main, basic goal”

Deputy Minister Ciecióra also spoke about the situation regarding Ukrainian grain.

The problem is that when European Commission abolished customs duties on agri-food products from Ukraine, a product that ended up in Poland had exactly the same rights as a product produced in Spain, Denmark, in any part of Europe, had no reason to be discriminated against with any seals, deposits and so on further, he pointed out.

– We have been reporting this at the level of the Commission (European – ed.) for a year, (…), such actions have been taken for a year, all our proposals have been rejected by the Commission – emphasized the deputy minister.

“We have economic freedom, free circulation of goods, and today our main, fundamental goal is to restore tariffs on these products,” he continued.

– Today we have arranged, first of all, that we have political agreements at the level of the governments of Warsaw and Kiev, we are also waiting for the European Commission to join these solutions, so that no grain, no grain goes beyond this transit – said the TVN24 guest.
