Ukrainians struck a Russian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system site at night near the town of Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
“On the night of August 21, units of the Ukrainian Navy, in cooperation with other (army) components, struck an enemy S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near the town of Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov region of Russia,” the statement reads.
It is reported that there was an explosion at the site of the attack, but the accuracy of the hit is still being checked.
The General Staff report noted that “S-300 systems are also used by Russian invaders to attack peaceful Ukrainian cities, destroy residential buildings and terrorize civilians.”
The joint combat work of all components of the Ukrainian Armed Forces aimed at important targets of the Russian army continues, the General Staff assured.
