The Polish national team took part in the European championships under 21, but dropped out of the European championships after the group stage. Adam Majewski's team lost 1: 2 with Georgia, 0: 5 with Portugal and 1: 4 with France. Jakub Kałuziński and Ariel Mosór scored the only white and red goals in the whole tournament. Three days after the group phase ended Euro U-21, the quarter finals began. Among the eight best teams of this tournament, the German team remained, which won the European Championships three times.

In the last Sunday match in the quarter -finals Euro U-21 Germans played with Italy. After the first half there was a goalless draw, and both teams fired one accurate shot. In the 58th minute, the Italians led 1: 0 after the individual action of Luka Koleosho. The winger went down to the inside, hit flat from before the penalty area and defeated Noaha Atubol. It seemed that this result could remain until the very end, which would herald a surprise.
Then in the 68th minute the Germans had a corner. Rocco Rietz crossed the ball into the penalty area, and the best in this situation was found by Nick Woltede, who jumped out of all, hit the ball with his head and led to a 1: 1 draw. Twelve minutes later, the Italians' situation fell apart when Wilfried Gnonto saw a red card for a foul on Max Rosenfelder.
After the red card, the Italians clearly went back to defense, and the Germans pushed with their attacks. In the 87th minute it was already 2: 1 for the Germans. Woltemade extended the passage in the penalty area of the Italians and played the ball with his head towards the distant post. Nelson Weiper was waiting for her there, who scored 2: 1. At the very end, Mattia Zanotti also looked at the red card, which reduced the Italians' chances. But not quite.
In the sixth minute of added time, the Italians received a free kick for Foul Eric Martel on one of their players. Giuseppe Ambrosino approached the ball, who hit the window straight and scored a goal at 2: 2. For most of the extra time it seemed that the match would be settled in penalties. Ultimately, the promotion of Germany was assured by Merlin Rohl, who hit the Italians from the penalty area of the closer post and defeated Sebastian Desplanches. The match ended with a 3: 2 result.
The Germans completed the group of Euro U-21 semi-finalists. Earlier, England (3: 1 with Spain), the Netherlands (1: 0 with Portugal) and France (3: 2 with Denmark).
