Unemployment in Poland is the lowest in 30 years
Preliminary data shows that at the end of September there were 771,000 registered in labor offices. unemployed. That's about 1.3 thousand. less than at the end of August and by 5 thousand. less than at the end of September 2023. “This is the lowest number of registered unemployed people recorded in September since the beginning of measurement, i.e. since 1990,” the ministry informs.
Unemployment varies regionally. The lowest – at 3 percent. – recorded in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. In turn, the highest in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. It amounted to 8.4 percent. Interestingly, the flood did not affect employment in the affected areas.
The flood did not significantly increase unemployment in the south
In most counties where a state of natural disaster was declared, the unemployment rate remained at the level from the previous month or decreased. In 8 out of 37 such poviats, unemployment was at the same level as in August, and in 13 poviats it even decreased slightly. In the remaining poviats (16), the unemployment rate was higher than in August. However, we are talking about a minimal increase, 0.1-0.3 points. percent
“In the poviats where a state of natural disaster caused by the flood was declared, there were 63.9 thousand registered unemployed people, which is about 120 people more than at the end of August,” the Ministry of Labor informed.
