Dubai police seized 500 kilograms of pure cocaine with a black market value of more than 500 million dirhams, the emirate’s press office said. Police detained a man who was acting as an intermediary for the international drug mafia.
Director of the Drug Department Id Mohammed Sani Hareb said the suspect, who hails from one country in the Middle East, has been placed under 24-hour surveillance after police received information about an attempted smuggling of large amounts of cocaine, the local Khaleej Times reported.
An investigative team was then formed to monitor the suspect’s movements until he received the expected drug delivery and transported them to another emirate for safekeeping. At zero o’clock, the officers raided the man and caught the man red-handed.
According to the police, the operation led to the largest drug seizure in the region, worth over PLN 540 million.

The suspect was convicted in his home country and confessed to committing the crime.
