U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wooden officers introduced Thursday {that a} soldier who went missing whereas kayaking earlier this week has been discovered {dead}.

“It’s with deep sorrow that we inform the Fort Leonard Wooden group that our lacking Soldier, Specialist Joshua Morrison, 21, a bridge crew member from fiftieth Multi-Function Bridge Firm, fifth Engineer Battalion, has been discovered deceased,” the bottom introduced on Fb. “The Maneuver Help Heart of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wooden crew is devastated by this tragic loss – Spc. Morrison was our teammate, and his service was valued and appreciated.”

The Maneuver Help Heart of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wooden leaders are asking for the general public’s help in finding Specialist Joshua J. Morrison, a lacking Soldier.

Morrison disappeared Tuesday within the Gasconade River in Waynesville, Missouri. Search and rescue groups had beforehand discovered his kayak and a backpack a few mile from the place he was believed to have launched at Ruby’s Touchdown, a riverside resort and campground.

“Our ideas and prayers are with Spc. Morrison’s household, mates and fellow Troopers, and we proceed to look after and assist them throughout this troublesome time,” the bottom stated.

Military officers stated they had been working with native legislation enforcement in an ongoing investigation.

Earlier this week, Unified Command spokesman Ed Fowler stated a number of companies had been participating within the search.
