US, Boeing Co. Planned layoffs of 2,000 people

Two thousand jobs are planned to be cut at Boeing Co. Employees in finance and human resources departments will lose their jobs because their work is outsourced to a company in India. It was explained that these actions are the result of simplifying the corporate structure, Reuters reported.

Last month, Boeing Co, an aircraft manufacturer based in Arlington, Virginia, announced it was planning to cut jobs.

Boeing job cuts

Last month, the company announced it would hire 10,000 people in 2023, up from 15,000 new jobs a year earlier. It has also been announced that some jobs will be eliminated.

It is about two thousand jobs in finance and HR departments. Boeing outsources about a third of these activities to Tata Consulting Services in India. Boeing wants to “continue to simplify the corporate structure”. Last year, the company said it planned to cut about 150 jobs in its financial departments in the United States. Boeing justifies the layoffs by focusing on engineering and manufacturing.
