US elections. Kamala Harris spoke out. First speech after the results

On Wednesday evening, Polish time, the US vice president spoke publicly for the first time after defeat in the presidential elections.

– My heart is full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me – she told the audience Washington. Harris announced the fight for values and thanked her family and President Biden for their support.

– Over 107 days of this campaign, we wanted to unite people from different directions – she explained. She then noted (much to the dissatisfaction of some of the audience) that “we must accept the election results.”

Harris broke the silence. She talked about “dark times”

The vice president of the United States said that she had called Donald Trump and congratulated him on his victory. The conversation concerned the peaceful transfer of power. Harris assured that does not intend to question the voters' verdict.

On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, election results were received from individual US states. The Republican candidate practically from beginning to end remained in the lead.

Officially Donald Trump can count on 294 electoral votesbut counting is still ongoing in several states. Importantly, the Republican won or leads in all of them swing states.

Trump “took back” four states that went to Joe Biden in 2020. It's about Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan i Wisconsin.
