US President Joe Biden was very moved, speaking during the Democratic Party convention in Chicago. He was greeted with a loud, long ovation. He did not hide his emotions.
Biden took the stage at the end of the first day of remarks. He stepped out to the thousands gathered just after his daughter Ashley spoke, who in turn spoke after her mother, the first lady Jill Biden.
Hearing the tremendous applause, Joe Biden He said “thank you” many times, but was unable to interrupt the crowd. It took him a long time to get his voice heard. People were standing, clapping, and chanting his name. He said then, clearly moved, “I love you.”

American television CNN reported that when Biden entered the stage, he hugged Ashley and then appeared to wipe away tears with a tissue. Other members of Biden's family were also moved, watching the moment from the VIP suite.
“My dad always told me, Joey, family is the beginning, the middle and the end. And I love all of you,” Biden told the crowd a few minutes later, adding, “America, I love you.”
Speaking of his wife Jill, he said that still when he walks into a room and sees her, his heart “pounds with love,” and he gestured to that. The crowd responded with another round of applause.
As CNN writes, before Joe Biden even spoke, the first ovation lasted more than four minutes.
Monday was the first day of the Democratic convention before the November presidential election.
