“The United States and Ukraine have taken important steps to restore permanent peace in Ukraine,” it was written in a joint statement after talks in Judda. “Representatives of both countries highly rated the courage of the Ukrainian nation in defense of their country and agreed that it was time to start building a lasting peace” – he added.

The statement indicated that “Ukraine expressed the readiness to accept the US proposal regarding the immediate implementation of the temporary 30-day suspension of weapons, which may be extended with the mutual consent of the parties and is subject to acceptance and simultaneous implementation by the Russian Federation.”

We are also talking about the fact that “the United States will immediately restore the exchange of intelligence and military support for Ukraine.”

Shortly after issuing a joint statement, the Secretary of State USA Marco Rubio and national security advisor Mike Waltz talked to journalists.

Rubio reported that Ukraine agreed to start negotiations immediately to end the conflict and adopted a 30-day arms suspension proposal.

– We will now take this offer to the Russians and we hope that they will say “yes” to the peace. The ball is on their side now. And again, the president's goal is number one here, above all. I want the war to end. I think that today Ukraine has made a specific move in this regard. We hope that the Russians will reciprocate – said Rubio. He said that the proposal would be submitted by “many channels”.

– President (Trump – ed.) Often told us: the war must end. The Ukrainians agreed to these suggestions, they are ready for peace. Now we will pass these proposals to the Russians, see how they will react – added Mike Waltz.

Rubio also spoke about a contract for Ukrainian raw materials. He said that although she was not the main subject of Tuesday talks, the presidents of both countries “instructed the relevant representatives of the government (in Washington and Kiev) to lead to the final”, i.e. signing the contract. He also noted that the parties in this matter are finance ministries of both countries.

Even before the appearance of a joint statement about the course of conversations, the spokeswoman for the White House Karoline Leavitt spoke. – I can assure you and everyone present here, as well as the American nation that the news that came to us from the meeting during the day and which the president was informed are positive. This meeting was productive – she told journalists.

After talks to a joint statement, the head of Ukraine diplomacy and a member of the Ukrainian delegation Andriy Sybiha referred. – The joint statement refer to the temporary suspension of fire for a limited time of 30 days, and only in the event of consent on the site Russia. The American side will now talk to the Russians about their readiness or not ready to end the war. Why is the temporary suspension of weapons so important? Because it does not mean a frozen conflict in any case. It is only about trying to start the road until the end of the war in a fair way. It is also a step that shows who is really interested in peace – he told Sybiha.

The minister assessed that the statement is a positive signal, which flows directly from the leaders of Ukraine and the United States, in the context of the planned signing of the Ukrainian-American mineral resource agreement. – What's more, it directly connects this agreement with the US guarantees regarding the long -term prosperity and security of Ukraine. This is what the Ukrainian side wanted – he noted. Sybiha explained that for the Ukrainian side it was also important that it was clearly mentioned that European partners should be involved in all peaceful talks. – We maintain our position that solutions for the long -term security of Europe cannot be accepted without Europe – he emphasized. According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tuesday's statement, special attention was paid to the release of prisoners, including civilians, and the return of Ukrainian children from Russia. He emphasized that this is the principle position of Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian Chancellery of the Ukrainian President Andrij Jermak also talked about the arrangements after the meeting. – We agreed that next week our teams will start talking about a 30 -day suspension of weapons at the level of technical experts – he said at a briefing in Saudi Dżudda.
