Canceled flights

The element caused the cancellation of many flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. More than 960 flights were delayed and 160 canceled due to severe weather on Tuesday, FlightAware said. By Wednesday morning, the number of cancellations at Chicago O’Hare had already surpassed 100, and delays exceeded 200 flights in total.

Thunderstorm, hail and tornado warnings remained in effect for Illinois and other states on Tuesday evening as a cold front moved through the country.
