There was a shooting on Tuesday at the U.S. Postal Service shipping center in Memphis, Tennessee. As a result of this incident, three people died, including the attacker, the FBI spokeswoman said during a conference attended by a representative of the US Postal Inspection.

Two US Postal Service employees lost their lives in the shooting at the East Lamar Carrier Annex complex on Orange Mound in the suburbs of Memphis. They died from shots fired by their colleague, who also died from injuries sustained in a suicide shot, FBI spokeswoman Lisa-Anne Culp said.

The USPS Logistics and Forwarding Center in Memphis does not serve retail customers, said Susan Link, an inspector at the US Postal Inspection Service. In her opinion, it was thanks to this circumstance that the number of potential victims and injured was not higher.

Among the dead are James Wilson, the head of the department where the perpetrator of the shooting was employed, the family of the killed manager reported.
