The American Airlines aircraft collided with another plane of the same line at Reagan's airport near Washington – the Federal Aviation Administration said on Thursday. There were at least three members of the congress on board one of the planes.
The American Airlines aircraft aimed at Charleston in South Carolina, hit the plane of the same line heading to the airport of John F. Kennedy in New York, around 12:45 local time (18:45 Polish time) – informed the Federal Aviation Administration. The incident occurred at the runway at Reagan's airport, near Washington. As added in the communiqué, no one was injured.
There were at least three members of the congress on board one of the planes.
Investigation and controls
The Federal Aviation Administration is to investigate in this matter. Both aircraft were withdrawn to carry out an inspection. The destruction was limited to the wings of each machine.
Passengers were directed to replacement aircraft. There were 76 passengers and four crew members on board the aircraft to South Carolina, and 67 passengers and four crew members on board the aircraft to New York.

Reagana airport has the most busy runway in USA. From January 29, when there was a collision between the American Airlines regional jet and a military helicopter in which 67 people were killed, intensive inspections were carried out at the airport. The Federal Aviation Administration also limited the helicopter movement near the airport.
