USA. ‘Anger management specialist’ charged with murder

A therapist from Florida (USA) was charged with murder after police received several reports of a man being shot in the city of DeLand. Officers found the victim’s body in the trunk of the defendant’s car. The 52-year-old advertises himself on his company’s website as an “anger management specialist.”

On Thursday, a police dispatcher in DeLand, Florida, received several calls from people reporting a homicide in the area of ​​S. Frankfort Avenue. One of the interlocutors told the services that he saw a person “washing blood from the ground” and “looking for bullets.”

Arriving officers found the body of 52-year-old Clinton Dorsey in the trunk of 46-year-old Travis McBride’s car. The man has been charged with the murder of a 52-year-old man and is currently in custody, the police said in a press release. It was further indicated that McBride and Dorsey knew each other and were “in conflict with each other.”

Therapist accused of murder

NBC News obtained documentation from the services, which shows that one of the people who called 911 told the police that McBride “shot” Dorsey. The woman pointed to the place where the 46-year-old allegedly opened fire. The officers found a bullet casing there. The woman also told police she saw McBride “drag Dorsey’s body across the street toward a wooded area.” She added that a few hours earlier, McBride had come to her house looking for Dorsey because, as he claimed, the 52-year-old had “put glass in a jar to hurt his dogs.”

A number of people interviewed by police said Dorsey was a person in crisis. Public records and McBride’s website show he is a therapist and owner of Starting Point Mental Health LLC in DeLand. A description on the company’s website says McBride is an “anger management specialist” and has “expertise in post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, depression and sleep problems.”
