Emilia Rennhack's maiden name was Kowalczyk. She was born and raised in Poland, and moved with her parents to the USA at the age of 12. In America she joined the police. She served for five years, gaining title of “policeman of the month”. Last year Rennhack she married detective Carl Rennhack. They worked in the same police station.

Schwally admitted that the night before the accident drank 18 beers. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a fatal accident.
