Three days after a jury decided to order Donald Trump to pay $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll for defamation, the writer said she would use the money for “something Donald Trump hates.” She suggested that she would create a “fund for women who were victims of sexual assault” by the former US president.

A Manhattan jury found on Friday that Trump is to pay compensation to the writer in the amount of $18.3 million – $11 million to fund a campaign to repair her reputation and $7.3 million for emotional harm caused by public statements. He also stated that Trump must pay $65 million in punitive damages for acting maliciously while testifying about Carroll.

The writer told ABC News on Monday that she plans to spend the money on “something Donald Trump hates.” “If it hurts him to donate money to certain causes, that’s my intention,” Carroll said. She suggested that she would create a “fund for women who were victims of sexual assault by Donald Trump.”

After the verdict was announced on Friday, Trump announced an appeal.

E. Jean Carroll accused Trump of rape

E. Jean Carroll filed a lawsuit in 2022. She claimed that Trump raped her in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman department store in 1995. She first revealed it publicly in 2019 in her book “What Do We Need Men For?: A Modest Proposal.”

Trump, as president and then as an individual, called Carroll’s allegations a fiction she invented to boost sales of her book. He said the woman was “not his type.”

As CNN recalled, last May, a separate jury in Manhattan awarded Carroll a total of $5 million in damages – including almost $3 million for defamation after it was found that Trump had sexually abused Carroll and then defamed her in 2022 with public statements, discrediting her and denying the allegations.

In that trial, it was found that Trump’s rape of Carroll did not occur.
