Billionaire Elon Musk, during one of the events that accompanied the inauguration of Donald Trump's presidency, told the audience that thanks to them, the future of civilization is assured. During a short speech, he made a gesture resembling a Roman salute.

– Some choices are, you know, important and some are not. But these were the choices that really mattered. And I want to thank you for contributing to this, said the billionaire Elon Muskaddressing the crowd at Washington's Capital One Arena.

– It is thanks to you that the future of civilization is assured. Thanks to you, we will have safe cities, finally safe cities, safe borders, sensible spending, basic things and we will take DOGE to Mars – he added, referring to the spending-cutting committee he heads, named after an Internet meme.

Musk came on stage dancing, greeted the crowd with a loud shout of joy, and made a gesture resembling a Roman salute twice during a short speech.

– This is what victory tastes like. This was not an ordinary victory, it was a turning point in the path of human civilization, Musk said just before making the gesture. The CNN journalist reporting on the event described the gesture as a “weird-looking salute.”

President Trump himself is also scheduled to appear during the parade at the Washington hall, where he is expected to sign a series of his first executive orders, including: about closing the southern border to asylum seekers and sending additional troops there.
