The Associated Press Evan Vucci photojournalist was awarded by the White House News Association for the “political photo of the year”. “Congratulations to Evan Vuccie from the Associated Press of victory in the political photo category of the year” – announced the Association of the White House Corresponders (WHCA). Vucci, sharing WHCA's entry on X, wrote that “this photo emphasizes the importance of eyeball and Heritage Associated Press in documenting the presidency.”
“I am looking forward to the day when I will be able to report again President Trump with my colleagues. Now, more than ever independent, non -party photoreports are necessary,” he added.

No access to the White House and Air Force One
The comment refers to the case of non -enthusiasm of AP journalists for events in the White House due to the fact that the agency in its materials still uses the name “Mexican Bay” instead of promoted by the new authorities USA “American Gulf”.
The White House News Association strongly defended AP in this dispute and made available photos and reports of AP reporters, which were refused to enter the Air Force One or access to the White House press zone.

The organization also issued a statement in which it indicated that members of the Association and photographers were, among others, in Butler on July 13, 2024 and “documented the historical moment when President Donald Trump survived the assassination attempt on his life.”
“These paintings have been seen all over the world and are striking examples of important work, which is possible thanks to the basic laws of the freedom of the press and access to the president,” it was emphasized.
