COVID-19 in the USA

The United States has seen an increase in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in recent weeks. According to the New York Times, there were 3,491 infected people in hospitals on Sunday. This is an increase of 31 percent compared to two weeks ago.

CNN reported that an administration official’s opinion in August has not yet made any changes to the White House’s coronavirus recommendations, despite warnings from some experts about rising hospitalization rates in America. In their opinion, especially people at high risk of infection should consider wearing masks.

In July, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that everyone who meets with the president is tested for COVID-19 after members of Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s delegation to Washington tested positive ahead of a bilateral meeting.
