US President Joe Biden will visit France in early June, the Elysée Palace and the White House announced on Thursday. He will take part in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy and will also meet with French leader Emmanuel Macron.

As the Elysée Palace emphasized in a statement, this will be President Biden's first state visit to the country France. “As war returns to the continent 80 years after Europe's liberation, the two presidents will discuss the unwavering and long-term support” that must be shown Ukraine – says the message.

It added that the aim of the leaders' meeting devoted to global crises will be to prepare subsequent international meetings, including the G7 summit in Italy mid-June and July peak FOR THIS in Washington.

President USA, who will depart for France on June 5, will take part there in celebrations commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy during World War II. Announcing talks with Macron on June 8, the White House said the leaders would discuss “a wide range of global challenges and bilateral issues,” including defense cooperation.

The White House has not yet announced the president's future European travel itinerary, who is also scheduled to attend the G7 leaders' summit in Puglia, Italy, on June 13-15. It is not yet known whether Biden will also take part in the event organized in Switzerland peace summit on the war in Ukraine June 15-16.
