On Wednesday morning local time, a Tesla car exploded in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Local authorities reported that one person was killed and at least seven were injured.
A vehicle fire was reported at the hotel just after 8:40 a.m., and crews arriving at the scene found a 2024 Cybertruck (Tesla car model – ed.) engulfed in flames, Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McCahill said at a press conference.
He reported that one person was killed and at least seven were injured. The FBI also got involved in investigating the case.
The recordings, made available by Reuters, among others, show a large cloud of smoke in front of the building.
Eric Trump, the president-elect's son, also reported the incident on the X platform.
“The safety and well-being of our guests and staff remain our top priority. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Las Vegas Fire Department and local law enforcement for their quick response and professionalism,” he wrote.
