Murder of Gabby Petito
Bligerka and traveler Gabby Petito went missing while traveling around the country with her partner Brian Laundrie. They drove west from Florida in a van to visit national parks in this part of the US. Petito regularly published photos of the trip on social media, the last time on August 25. At the end of August, she also contacted her family for the last time.
On September 1, Laundrie himself returned home in Florida in his friend’s van. The man disappeared after several days without a trace, and the family reported him missing. Florida police started a search for Laundrie.
Gabby Petito’s family notified police that she was missing on September 11. Authorities then began a large-scale search – soon after the body of a 22-year-old blogger was found in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The coroner stated that Petito was the victim of a homicide. In the first half of October, the authorities said that the cause of the woman’s death was asphyxiation.
