President Andrzej Duda arrived in New York on Saturday evening local time, beginning a five-day visit to mark the high-level week inaugurating the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. The President will appear in the debate of the UN Assembly and Security Council.
President Andrzej Duda together with the First Lady, he arrived at the Lexington Hotel in Manhattan, the traditional place of stay of the Polish delegation, around 10 p.m. local time.
On Sunday, the president will begin the official program of his visit to USA from laying wreaths at the Katyn monument in Jersey City, New Jersey and meeting with representatives of the Polish community at Christ the King Catholic School in Queens, where he will award awards to distinguished activists.

In the following days, the Polish president will take part in the Sustainable Development Goals Summit (SDG Summit) at the headquarters UN, will meet, among others, with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the president Turkey Recep Erdogan. On Tuesday, he will appear in the general debate of the 78th session of the General Assembly, meet with the leaders of the Baltic states and take part in the traditional reception organized by the US president for world leaders.
– I will be talking there about the issues that are most important for us and our part of Europe today, namely issues obviously related to security, how to build security, both energy security and today, above all, towards Russian aggression against Ukraine and the evident resurgence of Russian imperialism, the president announced before leaving Warsaw. He added that he expected to have the opportunity to talk to the US president during the reception Joe Biden.
Earlier, Duda signaled that he might also hold a conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
On Wednesday, President Duda will take part in the UN Security Council debate on Ukraine, meet with the leaders of Vietnam and Andorra, and on Thursday he will attend the Global Africa Business Initiative forum.
