Key States for Election Results
The newspaper recalled that Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania are so-called swing states. They owe their common name to the fact that sometimes the Republican candidate wins the election there, and sometimes the Democratic candidate. Gaining an advantage among the voters there is of fundamental importance for the outcome of the presidential election.
In addition to the three states mentioned, this year's swing states include: North Carolina, Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia.
Already at the end of July, a Bloomberg poll showed that Harris was leading in four of the seven swing states – Michigan, Nevada, Arizona and Wisconsin, and tied with Trump in Georgia.
At the beginning of July, Trump was ahead of Biden by 2 percentage points and was leading in five of the seven swing states.
