Rapper Kodak Black was arrested Friday in Florida for roadside check. It turned out that the singer had an invalid registration certificate. After searching the vehicle, police found $ 75,000 in cash and 31 strong opioid pills inside.
A Florida police patrol stopped a purple Dodge Durango SUV on Friday because the vehicle’s windows seemed darker than allowed by law. Rapper Kodak Black was behind the wheel.
After presenting the documents, it turned out that the registration certificate assigned to the car was invalid. The police searched the vehicle. Officers found a large amount of cash in it – a total of $ 75,000. They also protected 31 white tablets that turned out to be Oxycodone, a powerful and highly addictive opioid pain reliever.
The 25-year-old rapper has been detained and placed under arrest in Broward County, Florida, CNN reports.
Kodak Black’s career and problems with the law
Kodak Black, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, is from Pompano Beach, Florida.
The first publicity gained thanks to the single “No Flockin” released in 2014. His 2017 debut album Painting Pictures hit # 3 on the Billboard 200 list USA. The album included “Tunnel Vision”, which became a hit in the US. The musician’s second album “Dying to Live” from 2018 took first place on the Billboard 200, and his single “ZEZE”, performed with Travis Scott and Offset, took second place on the Hot 100 chart.
In 2019, Black was sentenced to three years in prison for making a false statement while trying to buy a firearm. On the last day of his presidency Donald Trump pardoned the singer. Kodack Black is “a prominent artist and community leader,” the White House said at the time in a statement.
