Eric died at his home on a March morning in 2022 in a small town in Utah. His wife Kouri testified that she gave him a drink in bed the day before his husband’s death. That evening she put her son to sleep, who would be awakened by nightmares. Around three o’clock in the morning, she awoke and returned to the matrimonial bedroom. She found her husband’s body very cold and immediately called an ambulance.

Investigators reached correspondence with a drug dealer

The forensic pathologist found Eric’s body to be more than 5 times the lethal dose of fentanyl. The drug was administered orally. After checking the text messages on the spouses’ phones, investigators discovered that the couple had a falling out. They then accessed the woman’s correspondence with the drug dealer. According to the police report, in late 2021 or early 2022, the woman allegedly asked him to get painkillers for a person suffering from severe back pain. Two weeks later, the woman asked for stronger drugs. He’s writing to ask about what he calls drugs that were prescribed to Michael Jackson. The woman was asking specifically about fentanyl. She picked it up on February 11.

On Valentine’s night, Eric was supposed to feel bad. He wrote to a friend that he suspected his wife had tried to poison him. A few days later, the woman ordered a larger dose of the drug. Six days later, her husband was found dead of a fentanyl overdose.
