Lightning struck a tree in Fort Worth, Texas. Two brothers playing nearby were electrocuted. The boys were hospitalized. As their mother reported, everything happened suddenly.
Jaden Alvarado, 13, and Isaac Martinez, 7, were playing in the yard near their home in Fort Worth on Wednesday when lightning struck a nearby tree. Their uncle, Carlos Martinez said that at the moment lightning strikes it was not raining and the weather conditions were not disturbing.
“The sky was blue, a little cloudy, nothing really happened,” Martinez told local media on Thursday.

According to the boys’ mother, Jessica Martinez Alvarado, lightning struck suddenly. “We were sitting outside like we do every day with our neighbor, and the kids were running around and playing,” said Martinez Alvarado. – It started thundering and flashing, suddenly we heard a loud bang. Lightning hit the tree, it looked like fireworks were coming down from it, she added.
Lightning struck a tree near the boys who were close enough to be electrocuted. When I looked in the direction of the impact, Isaac was lying head down. I started screaming for my brother to come out and help me. – I thought I had lost my sons. It’s the worst feeling in life. I don’t wish that on anyone,” she added.
The boys were hospitalized. They don’t remember what happened. The doctors believe that it was mainly Jaden who was electrocuted, and the lightning ricocheted off him and hit Isaac.
Thunderstorms swept across northern Texas on Wednesday. It rained heavily in some areas.
