Speaker Mike Johnson announced Wednesday that he is sticking to his plan to introduce bills on aid to Ukraine, Israel and countries in the Indo-Pacific region to the House floor. The fourth project will concern measures “to counter Russia, China and Iran.” Johnson said that votes on this matter would take place on Saturday evening, Reuters reports.

“In a message to House members, Johnson said the House Rules Committee would also release the text of a separate border security bill, and the House would vote on final passage on Saturday evening, providing time for debate and amendments,” Reuters reported.

Johnson's plan

Johnson had previously announced that instead of putting to a vote the $95 billion package combining funds to support Ukraine, Israel and the Indo-Pacific countries passed by the Senate in February, projects relating to each region would be put to a vote.

According to previously reported information, the Speaker's plan also includes an additional package containing, among other things, provisions enabling the use of frozen Russian assets or the conversion of aid to Ukraine into loans and equipment leasing.
