The incident occurred on Thursday evening, after the Airbus A321 took off from the airport LaGuardia w New York. The American Airlines flight was scheduled to arrive in North Carolina, but the flight was unexpectedly interrupted.
A bird fell into the right engine of the Airbus. Passengers saw a flash. The engine stopped working. The pilots made an emergency landing 20 minutes later at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. Plane it got there using only one engine.
A video was posted online in which one of the passengers immortalized the moment collision with a bird.

New York Post journalists talked to passengers on the flight. “I thought I was going to die. I was scared. There were several small explosions and a fire,” reported Amy Stamper from Tennessee.
