A policewoman who accidentally shot a man from his own weapon was dismissed from work. The incident occurred during road control in Florida.
On Tuesday, the office of Sheriff Jacksonville in Florida announced the event that took place on December 13 in this city. 39-year-old Jason Arrington was accidentally shot in the leg by a policewoman during a road check. According to a police message, the man was detained by officers for driving on a red light. Three policemen participated in the inspection, including Mindy Cardwell.

Sheriff's office emphasized that the man cooperated and followed the instructions. Cardwell tried to remove the weapon from the detainee's belt, but she had difficulties with it. When it finally succeeded, she took the trigger uninterested, and the pistol fired, hitting the man in the leg.
Sheriff's office published recordings from cameras on the uniforms of all three policemen. They show that the police immediately gave help to the wounded and called for help. The man was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
During the internal investigation, the woman testified that the difficulties with the removal of the weapon resulted from the fact that the holster in which there was a weapon was tight and the pistol “did not want to leave”. In the investigation, it was established that a policewoman showed a lack of competence, therefore she was released.
