The US Department of State agreed to sell gliding low -diameter air bombs and supplementary elements to Poland – Pentagon said on Wednesday. It is about 1.4 thousand GBU-39/B missiles. The transaction is estimated at almost PLN 700 million.
The agency issued a message in this matter Pentagon called Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). As it was written, the Polish authorities applied for the purchase of 1,400 bombs with a small diameter GBU-39/B together with parts and accompanying equipment.
“The proposed sales will improve Poland's ability to face current and future threats by increasing its ability to carry out effective air -earth strikes, strengthening its ability to protect the sovereign Polish territory and improve its ability to comply with NATO requirements” – it was written. The maximum cost of the transaction is 180 million dollars, which is almost PLN 700 million.
Pentagon announced that Boeing is the main contractor of the contract.
