The US has approved the sale of Chinook combat helicopters and related equipment to Germany. In June 2022, then German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced that her country would buy 45 to 60 heavy helicopters.

State Department USA approved the potential sale to the Germans CH-47F Chinook combat helicopters and related equipment for approximately $8.5 billion, it said on Thursday Pentagon.

The Germans are betting on Chinook helicopters

In June 2022, the then German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced that her country would buy 45 to 60 CH-47 Chinook heavy helicopters, manufactured by the American concern Boeing, to replace the aging fleet of Sikorsky CH-53 combat helicopters.
