Federal authorities have arrested a Missouri woman and charged her with attempting to auction off Elvis Presley's historic mansion. Lisa Jeanine Findley has also been charged with mail fraud and impersonation, according to a news release.
Police have arrested a woman accused of trying to sell Graceland, the mansion of the late Elvis Presley. Prosecutors said Friday that she used forged documents to prove that the property was collateral for a loan.
According to the prosecutor's office, the arrested Lisa Findley intended to extort millions from the Presley family. The woman is accused of “drafting false documents as part of a brazen procedure” to prove that Presley's deceased daughter took out a private loan against the residence and failed to repay it before her death – reported the ABC television portal.

In an effort to force the Presleys to act, she published foreclosure notices in local newspapers and announced that the mansion was up for auction. The news spread around the world, and a judge blocked the auction at the last minute.
The detained woman tried to convince the heirs of the King of Rock and Roll, who died in August 1977, as well as the court and the media, that the intrigue was the work of Nigeria “identity thief” – ABC reported. If the woman's guilt is proven, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
