A California hiker has died at the scene after she fell off a trail while hiking Mt. Teewinot. This peak is located in Grand Teton National Park in the US state of Wyoming.
The tragic accident happened on Friday before dawn local time. California hiker Joy Cho, age not disclosed, fell off a trail on Mount Teewinot in Grand Teton National Park. Park officials said the woman “suffered serious injuries in the fall and was pronounced dead at the scene.” Her body was removed from the scene by helicopter and transferred to the Teton County Coroner’s Office.
As reported in the release, seven participants of the same expedition were transported to the search and rescue center. When it turned out that the condition of these people did not cause concern, they were delivered to their own vehicles, parked near the beginning of the route.
Mount Teewinot, at 3,758 meters above sea level, is the sixth highest peak in the Teton Range.
